The color is deep red. The wine offers precise aromas of blackcurrant, undergrowth and tobacco. The palate is distinguished, balanced, powerful with pronounced tannins. The 45-year-old vines come from the “Hautes Mourottes” climate, in the village of Ladoix-Serrigny. The name of the climate refers to the walls of old quarries which were filled in to become vineyards. This microclimate produces firm wines when drunk young. The Corton “Hautes Mourottes” is the Grand Cru located highest on the Corton hill, around 360 meters above sea level. Facing due east, it benefits from a relatively cool microclimate, with strong thermal amplitudes. The vines are grown biodynamically.
